Thank you for visiting the web site of composer Tim Rumsey. Tim is currently pursuing a DMA in Composition at the University of Georgia. Prior to that he received a masters degree in
composition and trumpet performance from James Madison University and a bachelor's in music education from Union College.
Tim writes primarily for chamber wind groups, concert band and choir.
He has written commissioned pieces for the Kettering Seventh-day Adventist Church, Union College Concert Winds, Union College Brass Union and Union College Unionaires,
Shenandoah Valley Academy Chamber Orchestra and Concert Band, Voice of Praise, Blue Ridge Bells and Columbia Union College Concert Winds.
His music has been performed at the General Conference Session of Seventh-day Adventists, Denver Festival of ThanksCaring,
Western North Carolina All-District Honor Band Concert, Mid-America Union Conference Music Festival, and in numerous schools and churches across the country.
His music can be heard on the following recordings: Masterworks of the New Era (Volume 11), Deliverance, Emmanuel, Hymns for Brass, Winds and Brass, Reunion and Resting in His Grace.
